Jamie Villanueva, DAOM, L.Ac., is a licensed Chinese medicine practitioner, specializing in women’s health, pain management, and healthful aging. Her interest in complementary and alternative medicine was fostered by a near death experience as a teenager, which ultimately led her to seek medical treatment that addressed both the emotional and the physical body. Jamie graduated with her MSOM and passed the California licensing exam in 2019. She continued her education and went on to obtain her DAOM, graduating in the fall of 2021. Her doctoral research capstone, “In Pursuit of the Jade Body: The Influence of Acupuncture on Nutrient Sensing Longevity Pathways” was published in The Journal of Chinese Medicine in February of 2022. The paper highlights her desire to explore and utilize acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the treatment and prevention of chronic disease in the United States.
